Clara is positioned as one of the most relevant platforms to manage corporate expenses in Latin America and now accelerates its bet with TravelPay, a vertical focused on business travel that seeks to transform how companies control, analyze and optimize this critical area.

Clara’s story began five years ago, when its founders detected a constant friction between commercial and finance teams. Companies were growing, but they lacked tools to manage their expenses in a clear, agile and efficient way, which slowed down decisions and generated internal tensions, says Leonardo Ramos, Clara’s Country Manager.

From that point, Clara built a payment ecosystem that combines technology and financial services. “Today it allows companies to manage all their corporate payments from a single place, with real-time visibility and control over each transaction,” Ramos points out in an interview with Contxto.

Clara currently operates in Brazil, Mexico and Colombia, markets that concentrate around 70% of the regional GDP. Thirty thousand companies already use its platform to manage corporate expenses that directly impact their daily operations.

Travel Pay aims to simplify corporate travel

The technological culture marks Clara’s DNA. The company operates as a 100% artificial intelligence-driven organization, with teams that integrate AI tools into their day-to-day work and translate that capability directly into products for clients.

This approach gave birth to the Clara Financial Analyst, an intelligent agent that answers questions in seconds that used to take hours. From identifying the top-spending team to detecting missing invoices, the information flows immediately and visually.

With that foundation, Clara launched TravelPay, also known internally as Clara Travel, a vertical specializing in corporate travel that acts as the payments backend for airlines, travel agencies and large consolidators in the industry.

TravelPay enables Clara to offer tools such as Virtual Card Numbers and Centralized Accounts. Thanks to these products, companies not only pay for a flight or a hotel, but also access detailed data on seats, baggage, class of service or room type.

“This visibility completely changes corporate expense management. Clara helps companies verify compliance with internal policies and detect spending deviations before they escalate into unnecessary costs,” explains Ramos.

The use of artificial intelligence is key

Artificial intelligence plays a key role in TravelPay. Clara analyzes patterns, identifies anomalies and streamlines reconciliations, which is crucial for companies with hundreds or thousands of active travelers each month.

The development of this vertical moved at great speed. Clara integrated talent with global corporate travel experience and closed strategic alliances such as Sabre Payments, which allowed it to reach in months a level that took years for other players.

With TravelPay, Clara reinforces its vision: to become the number one partner for corporate expense management and business travel in the region. “In a market still in the process of digitalization, the company sees a clear opportunity to drive financial efficiency, business growth and technology adoption in Mexico and Latin America,” emphasized Clara’s executive.
